Diving into data science has the potential to be an important part of our students’ mathematics experience, enabling them to share the diverse perspectives they bring to the classroom. Developing and exploring questions about real situations and real data can help students build a positive mathematical identity and form an appreciation for why mathematics is important in their lives. In this session we will work with technology to explore ideas that will open the doors for students to step into data science experiences and increase their data literacy.
